Where was my invite?

This is clearly the best pool party of all time.  There is another version of the video on youtube that also features Young Jeezy, which is better.  But this is the best I could do for now.  Imagine yourself, in Miami, pool party, and Michael Phelps races Warren Sapp with Young Jeezy referreeing it. Dont believe me?  Look for yourself....

MGMT + Justice = My Mind Blown

This is not the official video, because there isn't an official video. But hats off to the guy that put this together.  I heard this song looking at a showreel by kingandcountry.tv.  They are an incredible agency out of California.  When I heard the song, I HAD to find it.  It took a couple hours, but I dug it up.  And here is the video to go along.  So check out the link, and the video.  Then go download the song.  Enjoy.  Happy Tuesday.

Secret Revealed and A New Link to Share

Some of you know this, for the rest of you, you know now.  I have a pretty big nerdism.  I'm a huge baseball/football card collector. It's true.  See:

Mmmmm.....would you look at that?  Calvin Johnson and Marques Colston autographs on one card.  Delicious.  Probably one of the highlights of my collection, as it's two of my favorites.  Marques Colston being my overall favorite NFL player.  Feel free to send me any Marques Colston cards you want.  Anyway, with that said, I want to put a link on the sidebar of my blog.  It has nothing to with photography at all.  Most of you will ignore this, but some of you will love it. You know who you are.  Adam Gellman runs a site called Sportscards Uncensored.  Aside from Joblo.com and any photography/graphic design site I can possibly squeeze into my day. Speaking of graphic design, I have done a little bit for his blog.  See if you can pick out which things I did.  For Louisiana Tech football fans, it should be rediculously easy.  I always make sure to visit this one.  It's informative and hilarious.  He is pretty much changing the hobby single handedly with his blog, whether he likes to admit it or not.  He also was cool enough to hook me up with some stuff after the rediculously fun 5 straight days of no electricity or any other luxury that I had to deal with after Hurricane Gustav.  Just a super cool guy.  Cool site.  Check it out whenever.  The link will be up on the top right from now on.  And that's your non-photo post for the day.  Hope you like it.

2009 will be a creative year...

...at least that's what I'm thinking right now.  I saw that saying on Graphic-Exchange.com's site and it struck a chord.  So, keeping in the New Year's spirit like Christi Martin did on her blog, I'll list my resolutions...of sorts.

1 - Be more creative/inspired.  I found that WAYYYYY more often than not, during 2008, I slacked off.  BIG TIME!  Now, I'm a creative person.  But I get tired.  Seeing as how I'm not like other photographers, being that I have a full-time day job, adding photography, wedding planning, a real life can getting VERY tiring.  However, this year I want to not use that as an excuse.  I want to be creative 100% of the time.  Now, I don't know what that means, as far as what I will shoot.  Last year I started shooting sports, and I loved it.  So I may be doing strictly sports and personal work by the end of the year.  Who knows.  But it will all be with full effort.

2 - Sports Illustrated Cover.  Yes, I want the cover. At least one.  And I want it this year.  Too much to ask?  I don't think so.  Resolution #3 will be on this same matter, sort of.  But yes, I want SI to put me on the cover.  End.

3 - Equipment Upgrade.  To get the cover, I'll need new equipment.  After the wedding is over..I will have it.  Then things really fall into place.

4 - Get in shape.  Holy cow I'm not the guy I used to be.  I attribute that to all the work I do.  Which all involves me sitting at a desk. When you do it during the day, and go home and do it again til 10 each night, add on a less than healthy diet, you get out of shape.  Bad.  People see me and say, 'you're not fat'.  Well, I'm getting there for starters. But I'm also internally not healthy.  Always tired, gross feeling, bla bla.  No more.  As of yesterday, I have started working out again.  So there.

5 - Buy a house.  Nuff said.

6 - Whatever else I forgot.  :-).

End of list.  Have a happy 2009 everyone!

This looks so amazing

Off the Subject

The paper work of Yulia Brodskaya has been popping up right and left on the net.  I wanted to take the time to show it on my blog, that way it is seen by people that may not have come across it otherwise.  Remember, this is made out of paper.  Enjoy.

To see more work go to Yulia Brodskaya's site.

In my opinion

Something came on the radio this morning, on my way to work, that got me thinking.  In my opinion, Porky Pig is the most insignificant Looney Tune of all the Looney Tunes.  I mean, yeah, they had Porkies the movie and Porky's BBQ and his face is on stuff all the time.  And of course he had the famous 'that's all folk's' at the end of each show.  But...what was his purpose? I can think of almost ALL of the Looney Tunes characters from my childhood and all but Porky made me laugh.  I can remember scenes of them and everything.  But nothing from Porky.  I just felt like posting that he offered nothing to my childhood.  Discuss if you want.  But I needed to get that off of my chest, hahahaa.
